1. Tokyo

A capital city is definitely the first place to visit in Japan. Tokyo is one of the busiest and most developed cities not only in Japan but in the world. Also, we are assuming that most of the travellers to Japan arrive in Tokyo either at Tokyo (Haneda) International Airport or at Narita International Airport. (Narita airport is actually located in Chiba, which is next prefecture to Tokyo) There are lots of places you got to visit, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Asakusa, Harajuku, Omotesando and so on. You can experience Japanese food, fashion, nightlife, entertainment and anything you want to do. Just do whatever you can.

2. Kyoto

Kyoto is a famous city of many historical places. Most of us have been to Kyoto as our school trip at elementary or secondary schools. There are historically important temples and shrines, castles and some of them has been registered as a world heritage. You may also see and encounter a GEISHA or MAIKO who wear Japanese traditional clothes, called Kimono and serve food and drink for their customer. You can also wear a Kimono if you want to, it would be an unforgettable experience. Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji and Ginkaku-ji are three of the famous places in Kyoto.

3. Hokkaido

For those who are looking for places to ski holiday, Hokkaido will be the one among your choices. There are many ski resorts area with beautiful powder snows. Hokkaido is located in the northern part of Japan and you can travel there by aeroplanes or bullet train (shinkansen). Hokkaido is famous for Ski resorts, Hot springs (Onsen), great natures and also tasty food, for example, fresh seafood. You would be amazed by those great natures, which gives quite a different image from Tokyo.

4. Hiroshima

Hiroshima located in a western part of Japan. What makes Hiroshima popular is that they got attacked by the atomic bomb and Hiroshima is the only place being attacked. There is a building called “Atomic Bomb Dorm”, which is really important to Japanese history to remind us of how the war was like. The feature of the dorm is impressive and giving us some lessons. At the same time, it is popular for tourists to visit. Also, their food is very good, especially Japanese pancakes called “Okonomiyaki”. Okonomiyaki is one of the famous Japanese cuisines though, sometimes how they cook it is different depending on the area. Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki is one of the most popular ones in Japan.

5. Okinawa

Okinawa is a southern part in Japan and famous for beach resorts for Japanese. It is a tropical climate in Okinawa. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and it makes Okinawa great place for vacation. There are many small islands around the main island. Travellers can enjoy a great nature and scenery or snorkelling, diving and various marine activities both on the main island and some isolated islands. Also, there are some historical places such as “Shuri Castle”.
